About Me

Hello!

I'm Niki, I'm from the UK and would happily describe myself as a newbie traveller!

I started this blog really as a way to document my 12 day holiday around the Highlands of Scotland and post pictures of my trip with my sister and our two dogs.

After that trip ended in semi-disaster (picking up a chest infection and having been rained on for about 10 days solid!) I honestly didn't think much about travelling much because I have "responsibilities" and a "job". All very boring things.

Travelling has never been high on my agenda as I've always been focussed on my career and social life, but recently I've realised something is missing. Maybe it's that "quarter life crisis" John Mayer sings about, but I now totally understand the feeling of itchy feet!

I still have the responsibilities, and the job, but I've also got something else: a goal!

Aiming High

My goal is to step foot on all 6 continents -Africa, the Americas, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, and Europe- and experience as much as I can from of different cultures throughout the world.

I've always thought that travelling was really expensive and only something that "other" people do, but in January 2016 I renewed my passport and booked a 3 day escape to Madrid with a good friend 2 weeks later. That has completely got me hooked! Now I plan to travel as much as possible during the school holidays (teacher...) and might even consider packing in my job all together and going off on adventure! Who knows? I certainly don't...!

Adventure

I don't have a plan for this blog, other than to share my experiences and photos with anyone who will read it. I don't even have much of a plan for the next X years to be honest! Lets see where adventure takes us!
